Preparations for System Cleaning

In order to avoid residual material-which may have experienced high-temperature degradation-entering the hot runner and clogging the nozzle gates during the initial production phase, remove old material residue from the injection moulding machine barrel and perform a screw purge in accordance with the production material's processing requirements.
Preparations for Machine and Mould Compatibility
Check that the mould ID is correct, that the locating ring and hot runner interface are free of damage, that the mould sprue radius (R-dimension) precisely fits the injection machine nozzle, and that all accessories, including water lines, clamping plates, and bridge plates, are present and in good condition.
Verify the screw is clean and the auxiliary equipment (mould temperature controller, robot, auto-loader) is operating properly; make sure the robot gripper is compatible with the mould; and confirm that parameters like clamping force, mould space dimensions, and mould thickness are compatible with the current mould.

Preparing the Hot Runner System for Preheating
Connect the hot runner temperature controller plugs. Instead of setting the heat immediately to the ultimate moulding temperature, start with a low preheat temperature and increase it gradually over time. By doing this, thermal shock-induced stress damage to the repaired temperature-sensing hole and sheath is avoided.
Throughout the procedure, keep an eye on the heating curves for each zone to guarantee consistent heating rates without unusual alarms or stalls. This will help you see any potential hidden problems in the temperature control circuits in advance.

Preparations for Process and Safety
Obtain the standard injection moulding parameters for the particular product; make sure that the melt temperature, mould temperature, holding pressure, and injection speed are all precisely in line with the raw material and product standards.
To allow quick quality verification of the first moulded shot and avoid batch faults, prepare standard reference samples and dimensional inspection instruments and check the first-article inspection technique beforehand.
To reduce safety hazards during the first production phase, make sure there are no exposed high-temperature components surrounding the hot runner and install the necessary safety guards. Additionally, confirm that emergency stop mechanisms are operational. Production may formally start when these extra preparations are finished, guaranteeing a flawless launch with no chance of subsequent failures.
