How Long Can a Repaired PTFE Wire Connector Last?

Based on our previous discussion of sealing processes and repair standards for PTFE wire connectors in hot runner humid environments, the lifespan of a repaired connector is affected by the process and operating conditions:

Compliant Fully Sealed Process: Using a standard solution with adhesive fluoroplastic heat shrink tubing and double-layer protection, it can be used stably for 3-5 years under normal humid conditions, essentially the same lifespan as a healthy wire.

Simple Sealing Process: Using only ordinary heat shrink tubing without a moisture-proof adhesive layer, moisture intrusion will occur within 1-2 years in humid environments, causing terminal corrosion and insulation failure.

High Humidity + Temperature Above 200℃ Composite Conditions: A compliantly sealed connector can also maintain a stable lifespan of 2-3 years, far superior to ordinary wire connectors.

Regularly retesting insulation resistance quarterly can identify potential problems early and further extend the actual lifespan of the connector.
