I. Software Locking Scenario Without Any Hardware Physical Latching
Under normal operating conditions, the RC parameter lock state can remain locked for 6-12 months without automatically releasing, and will not automatically revert to a modifiable state.
If maintenance operations such as system firmware upgrades or factory resets are performed, the lock state will be released immediately after the operation is completed, and the RC parameters will automatically revert to the factory default configurable state.
Some older thermostat models may experience data loss in the underlying registers due to prolonged power outages exceeding 30 days, resulting in unexpected automatic release of the lock state.
II. Scenario with Simultaneous Software Latching and Hardware DIP Switch Locking
Under normal operating conditions, the RC parameter lock state can remain locked for more than 3 years without automatically releasing, and will not automatically recover without external intervention.
Only by manually moving the physical DIP switch from the locked position to the unlocked position and simultaneously entering the administrator password to unlock the software latch in the system will the RC parameters revert to a modifiable state.
In this scenario, automatic recovery is not possible; all state changes require manual intervention.
III. Unexpected Recovery Scenarios Under Abnormal Operating Conditions
An extremely strong electromagnetic pulse impact in the workshop may trigger a hardware reset of the temperature controller, unexpectedly releasing the locked state within seconds, and automatically restoring the RC parameters to their factory default configurable state.
A power module failure in the temperature controller hardware may cause data corruption in the non-volatile storage partition, resulting in the loss of the lock indicator, and the RC parameters will directly revert to a modifiable state.
