Based on the previous focus on the need for specialized equipment such as micro-welding and inert gas protection for deep thermocouple repair in hot runner injection molding scenarios, the repair time varies significantly depending on the type of fault:

Simple peripheral fault repair: This only addresses issues like loose wiring or damaged compensating wires, requiring only 15-30 minutes. The thermocouple can be quickly put into calibration after repair.

Slight oxidation, polishing, and repackaging repair: For thermocouples with slightly oxidized sheaths, this involves polishing the oxide layer, repackaging, and calibration, taking approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Broken thermocouple deep welding repair: This involves cleaning the break point, welding in an inert environment, annealing to stabilize thermoelectric characteristics, and calibrating accuracy across the entire temperature range, taking approximately 3-4 hours.

If sent to a third-party professional organization for deep repair, the round-trip logistics and processing time typically takes 2-3 days, far less efficient than simply replacing the thermocouple with a new one, which can be installed and calibrated in 15 minutes.
