First Calibration Following Repair
After the repair is finished, the hot runner has to be heated to the production temperature and stabilised for half an hour before the initial calibration is carried out right away. This is a necessary step before the system is put into production; it guarantees that temperature measurement accuracy satisfies requirements inside the new heat-conduction path and avoids measurement mistakes that could result from utilising out-of-date parameters.
Following Regular Calibration Cycles
The hot runner's operating circumstances should be taken into consideration when determining the frequency of successive calibrations following the initial calibration and the start of regular production:
Calibration should be done every 1 to 3 months in harsh operating conditions, such as high temperatures, high vibration, or frequent temperature cycling; for precision injection moulding applications requiring extremely high temperature accuracy, calibration may be done monthly (every 1 month) to ensure long-term stability in temperature control. Calibration should be done once every 3 to 6 months in standard, stable production conditions.
Based on the amount of drift seen in the temperature controller's historical calibration data, calibration intervals can be flexibly changed; if previous calibration deviations have consistently been small and steady, the gap between calibrations may be suitably prolonged.
