How to determine if a hot runner brand has low vibration?

You can assess a hot runner brand's vibration control capabilities from three dimensions: technical design, actual testing, and industry verification. Specific methods are as follows:

1. First, examine core design indicators (pre-screening): Prioritize the brand's structural design related to vibration reduction. Products meeting these design requirements generally have better vibration control:

Does it indicate a rigid manifold design/multi-point support structure? Higher rigidity reduces resonance and vibration amplitude;

Does it employ optimized flow channel design? For example, large turning radii and smooth transition sections reduce melt turbulence and vibration at the source;

Does it have pre-installed interfaces for vibration damping structures? Supporting the addition of high-temperature resistant damping pads indicates that the brand has considered vibration control in its design.

2. Actual Testing and Verification (Most Accurate and Direct) When you receive samples or trial molds, you can use two simple methods to judge the performance:

Preliminary Judgment: With the injection molding machine operating stably, touch the outside of the mold (when the power is off) and feel the vibration amplitude. The less shaking, the better the vibration control. Alternatively, use a stethoscope close to the hot runner installation area; the less abnormal noise and vibration interference, the lower the vibration frequency and amplitude.

Product Consistency Testing: Produce 100 molds continuously and check the product dimensional deviation. If the dimensional fluctuations are small across multiple production runs of the same cavity, and the dimensional differences between multiple cavities are stable, it indicates good hot runner vibration control.

3. Refer to Industry Verification and Reputation

Prioritize the downstream sectors served by the brand: Brands that have long supplied industries with high dimensional accuracy requirements, such as automotive and medical, have a higher level of maturity in vibration control;

Check the brand's technical patents: If the brand has patents related to "vibration reduction structure" or "flow channel noise reduction," it indicates that the brand has invested in dedicated R&D in vibration control, ensuring better performance;

Inquire about actual user feedback from peers: Brands that rarely experience loose screws or glue leakage after long-term use have better vibration control performance.
