How to Determine if a Husky thermocouple need recalibration.

Calibration cycles for thermocouples with Husky temperature controllers should not be longer than 12 months, as per industrial metrology management rules. Recalibration must be scheduled after expiration; this is a required trigger calibration condition.

If the thermocouple has just been disassembled, replaced, or re-welded, it must be recalibrated before use to ensure that the temperature measurement accuracy matches the standards.

Abnormal Operating Condition Trigger Judgement: If the temperature indicated by the Husky temperature controller deviates from the actual temperature in the hot runner for more than ±3℃, and after ruling out loose wiring or hardware damage, recalibration is necessary.

If the temperature controller's temperature display shows continuous drift, with a unidirectional temperature deviation exceeding 2℃ after 30 minutes of continuous constant temperature operation and no signs of hardware failure, it indicates that the thermocouple's thermoelectric characteristics have drifted and recalibration is necessary.

If injection-molded items have visible temperature control-related moulding faults (such as flash, inadequate glue, or colour difference), and it is determined that this is due to temperature measurement error, the thermocouple must be recalibrated promptly.

Verification Test Trigger Judgement: If a comparative test using a standard thermocouple at commonly used production temperature points in the hot runner results in a temperature deviation that exceeds the allowable error range for the corresponding thermocouple grade, recalibration is required.

If a thermocouple has been constantly working at temperatures above 300°C for more than 6 months, even if there are no visible anomalies, it is advised that it be recalibrated to identify potential accuracy drift.

Before the manufacturing line's yearly quality system audit, all Husky temperature controller thermocouples must be calibrated to assure traceable and compliant temperature measurement data.

Using these multidimensional judgement criteria, it is feasible to properly assess whether Husky thermocouples require recalibration, eliminating inaccurate temperature measurements due to extended service life and affecting product quality.
