A pressure sensor needs recalibration if any of the following conditions are met:
1. Reaching the Scheduled Calibration Cycle
Regular production requires calibration every 3-6 months, high-precision production every 1-3 months. Regardless of current issues, timely calibration is recommended to prevent deviations.
2. Static Display Abnormalities
After the hot runner is fully depressurized and allowed to stand for 5 minutes, if the control system displays a pressure deviation from zero exceeding 0.5%FS (e.g., pressure > 1 bar at full scale of 200 bar), and the zero-point drift is irregular with each startup, calibration is required.
3. Unstable Dynamic Production
Under the same injection molding parameters, if the maximum injection pressure fluctuation in consecutive mold runs exceeds 2%FS, the pressure curves do not overlap, and this is accompanied by recurring flash/material shortages and excessive dimensional fluctuations, the deviation is affecting production and calibration is necessary.
4. Triggering a Special Event
After disassembling/rewiring the sensor, changing the installation location, or adding/replacing the signal conversion module, recalibration is required regardless of the previous calibration interval.
If any one of these criteria is met, calibration can quickly eliminate deviations and restore production stability.
