Basic General Rules: The installation depth should be 8-15 times the diameter of the thermocouple protection tube. For protection tubes with good thermal conductivity (metal), the depth can be appropriately increased to 15-20 times the diameter. For ceramic insulated protection tubes, the depth can be set to 10-15 times the diameter. This ensures sufficient contact between the hot end and the measured part, reducing temperature measurement errors caused by heat conduction.
Hot Runner Scenario Adaptation: The hot end needs to be extended to the near-wall temperature measurement area of the hot runner channel. For conventional hot runner systems, an installation depth of 20-25mm is sufficient. This avoids excessive insertion that could interfere with melt flow and avoids surface temperature gradient areas, ensuring accurate acquisition of the true melt temperature.
Special working condition adjustments: If the installation position exceeds 1m, a support structure needs to be added to prevent the protective tube from deforming; for high-speed flowing melt, it can be inserted shallowly, and the optimal depth can be determined through experimental calibration, taking into account both structural safety and temperature measurement accuracy.
