Based on our previous research on the fact that repaired PTFE wires in hot runner scenarios can only operate stably for 3-6 months under extreme 260℃ conditions, the following targeted measures can be taken to extend their lifespan:
Optimize the repair process: Use imported fluoroplastic heat shrink tubing with a temperature resistance of ≥300℃, employ triple insulation wrapping, and tin-plating the crimped joints for anti-oxidation treatment to reduce contact resistance and heat generation.
Physical isolation and cooling: Move the repaired joint to a low-temperature zone away from the hot runner heating coil, and use high-temperature resistant heat-insulating pads for physical insulation to lower the actual operating temperature of the joint.
Dynamic operating condition management: Avoid continuous full-load operation at 260℃; appropriately reduce the hot runner temperature during non-production periods to reduce the duration of continuous high-temperature impact.
Increase the frequency of inspections: Retest the insulation resistance every 2 weeks; if the value is lower than 70% of the initial reference value, immediately replace the wire preventively to avoid sudden failures.
