I. Pre-emptive Safety Preparations
Confirm that the hot runner is currently in cooling standby mode, with the temperature below 60℃. Disconnect the heating circuit power supply to avoid accidental heating during the restoration process.
Export and back up the currently locked RC parameters, PID parameters, and temperature setpoints for each segment beforehand to prevent loss of process parameters after a factory reset.
Record the device number and software version number of the current temperature controller for easy matching of the corresponding operation path later.
II. Step-by-Step Unlocking and Restoration Operation
Enter the temperature controller's main menu, enter the previously set administrator operation password, and enter the "Signal Filtering Settings" submenu.
Switch the current "RC Hardware Lock" mode back to "Automatic Adaptation" mode to unlock the hardware latch status of the RC parameters.
Return to the main menu, find the "System Settings" sub-option, and select the "Restore Factory Settings" function. The system will display a second confirmation prompt.
Enter the device's factory default verification code (the common default code for general hot runner temperature controllers is 1234/0000; refer to the corresponding manual for different brands to confirm), and confirm to execute the restoration operation.
Wait for the system to automatically restart. After restarting, all parameters will be restored to factory defaults, and the RC lock status will be completely cleared.
III. Post-Restore Verification Operation
Enter the "Signal Filtering Settings" interface and confirm that the RC filtering mode has returned to the factory default "Automatic Adaptation" state, with no residual lock indicator.
Re-import the previously backed-up process parameters, start the temperature rise test, and confirm that the temperature controller is operating normally with no abnormal temperature reading jumps.
If you still need to enable RC parameter locking later, recalibrate the parameters and reconfigure them according to the previous locking procedure.
IV. Precautions
Restore factory settings will clear all custom temperature control parameters. A full parameter backup must be completed before operation to avoid affecting subsequent production.
If you forget the RC lock administrator password, you can contact the equipment manufacturer to obtain a unique unlock code; there is no need to force a factory reset.
