I. Pre-Power-On Preparation

Confirm that the equipment power supply voltage matches the field power supply. Connect the dedicated signal output test leads and check that the output terminals are free of oxidation and loose connections.

Confirm the signal type of the hot runner temperature control channel to be verified (K-type thermocouple/4~20mA standard signal) and switch the signal generator to the corresponding output mode.

Disconnect the field sensor wiring of the channel to be verified. Directly connect the signal generator output terminals to the input port of the temperature control channel, clearly marking the wiring to avoid reverse connection.

 

II. Equipment Power-On and Self-Calibration

Press the power button to turn on the equipment. Wait for the equipment to complete a 30-second self-test. Confirm that the screen displays no errors. The equipment's built-in self-calibration program will automatically complete zero-point calibration.

Set the output signal range according to the normal operating temperature range of the hot runner, locking the output accuracy class at ±0.05%FS.

 

III. Standard Signal Output Operation

For the K-type thermocouple channel: Input four standard temperature analog millivolt signals sequentially via the digital keys: 0℃, 100℃, 200℃, and 300℃. Hold each signal for 30 seconds after it stabilizes.

For the 4~20mA current channel: Output three standard current signals sequentially: 4mA, 12mA, and 20mA, covering the full range of industrial signals.

For each signal output, simultaneously record the real-time displayed value of the corresponding channel of the hot runner temperature controller and calculate the deviation from the theoretical value.

 

IV. Fault Simulation and Linkage Verification

Switch to interference pulse output mode and inject a small interference signal into the channel to verify the temperature controller's anti-interference capability and whether the alarm triggering logic is normal.

Output open/short circuit analog signals to verify whether the temperature controller's over-limit protection function triggers normally and confirm that the channel response delay meets the specifications.

 

V. Power Off and Final Reset

After all verifications are completed, first reset the signal generator output to zero, then turn off the equipment power and disconnect the test leads.

Following the previous markings, reconnect the original sensor wiring to the hot runner channel, power on, and confirm that the channel signal has returned to normal to complete the entire operation.

This tutorial is fully adaptable to hot runner field maintenance scenarios, with clear and practical operation steps that can quickly complete channel verification and troubleshooting.
