Based on our previous discussion of the operational procedures and tool preparation for replacing PTFE conductors in hot runner scenarios, the following core safety precautions must be observed during replacement:
Power Disconnection Safety Management: The main power supply to the hot runner must be completely disconnected. A "Under Maintenance, Do Not Close" sign must be displayed. Live work is strictly prohibited to avoid the risk of electric shock.
High Temperature Protection: Work should only commence after the hot runner has completely cooled to room temperature to prevent burns from the high-temperature metal casing and residual heat.
Way Error Prevention Marking: Each old conductor should be marked with a marker beforehand to indicate its wiring sequence and connection points. This prevents incorrect wiring from causing short circuits in the temperature control zone or burning out the heating coils.
Insulation Performance Verification: After the new conductors are installed, the insulation resistance must be tested for each conductor using a 1000V megohmmeter. Power can only be applied after confirming a resistance ≥100MΩ to eliminate the risk of leakage.
Wiring Mechanical Protection: When laying new wires, avoid 90° bends and ensure they avoid the core high-temperature zone of the hot runner. Allow for thermal expansion and contraction to prevent insulation damage during subsequent operation.
Power-On Testing Protection: During the initial power-on and heating phase, monitor the temperature of each zone and the status of leakage protection throughout the process. If any abnormalities are detected, immediately disconnect the power and investigate to prevent the fault from escalating.
