Domestic and imported hot runner dedicated thermocouples form obvious tiered service life differences due to raw material purity, production process control and anti-aging structural design, with different cost-performance matching scenarios for different mold production loads. Blind pursuit of low-price domestic sensors or full import configuration will both bring unbalanced production cost losses.

High-end imported thermocouples from European and American brands (Günther, Husky, Mold-Masters supporting original sensors) adopt high-purity original ingot K/J alloy wires, seamless laser-welded Inconel sheaths and fatigue-resistant beryllium copper spring components. Under 24-hour continuous mass production conditions, the stable precision service life reaches 10–14 months; even in corrosive plastic molding environments, effective service cycle maintains 6–8 months. Strict factory multi-layer high-temperature aging and vibration screening eliminate hidden defective products before delivery, with extremely low failure rate in later use. The main disadvantage is high unit procurement price, 2–3 times that of domestic standard models.

Mid-range Korean brand Yudo matching thermocouples use semi-imported alloy raw materials, integrated heater-thermocouple assembly process mature for packaging molds. Continuous production service life ranges from 6–9 months under low-corrosion PP/PET molding conditions; service life drops to 3–4 months for halogen-containing flame retardant plastics. Price is moderate, between European imports and domestic universal products, suitable for mid-volume high-speed thin-wall packaging production lines.

Domestic high-precision brand thermocouples (Anole, Tinko dedicated sensors) adopt domestically smelted high-purity alloy, polished seamless 316 stainless steel sheaths and standardized fatigue-resistant springs. Stable service life under ordinary non-corrosive plastic continuous production reaches 5–8 months; anti-corrosion coated customized models extend to 4–6 months for corrosive materials. Strict CE and RoHS testing is implemented, with performance close to Korean brands at 40–60% of the price of imported European sensors, the mainstream cost-effective choice for most domestic injection molding enterprises.

Low-cost inferior domestic thermocouples use recycled mixed alloy wire, seamed thin steel sheaths and recycled copper spring rings without fatigue treatment. Even under low-load intermittent single-shift production, stable service life is only 1–2 months, prone to rapid signal drift, sheath oxidation cracking and spring failure, with frequent shutdown and scrap losses offsetting low procurement cost advantages.

Matching selection suggestions based on production load: Medical cleanroom, automotive high-precision molds with long continuous production cycles select imported high-end thermocouples to reduce shutdown loss; mass packaging and household appliance molds with balanced cost and efficiency adopt domestic high-precision brand sensors; small-batch trial molds with intermittent production can use mid-range Korean or standard domestic models; inferior recycled alloy sensors are completely prohibited for formal mass production molds.333
