Based on our previous experience repairing PTFE conductors in hot runner scenarios using cold pressing and double-layer fluoroplastic heat shrink tubing, the upper temperature resistance limit of the repaired PTFE conductor depends on the repair material:
Standard Qualified Repair: Using double-layer fluoroplastic heat shrink tubing with a temperature resistance of ≥260℃ for insulation protection, it can stably withstand temperatures up to 240℃ for extended periods, suitable for most conventional hot runner operating conditions.
Short-Term Endurance: It can withstand temperatures up to 260℃ for short periods without insulation shrinkage or embrittlement failure.
Inadequate Repair: If ordinary low-temperature heat shrink tubing is used, it can only withstand temperatures around 125℃, completely unsuitable for high-temperature hot runner scenarios, and is prone to rapid insulation failure.
Repaired conductors are not recommended for long-term use under extreme conditions above 260℃. Regularly retesting the insulation resistance ensures operational safety.
