Different hot runner structures require different thermocouple products to achieve optimal temperature measurement. According to installation positions, hot runner thermocouples are mainly divided into nozzle thermocouples and manifold thermocouples. Nozzle thermocouples need to be small in size and fast in response, usually using miniature probes with threaded or bayonet installation to get close to the melt channel and ensure real-time temperature feedback. Manifold thermocouples focus on measuring the overall core temperature, often using deeper insertion depth and more robust structure to maintain long-term stability.
According to performance classification, there are standard type, high-temperature type, and anti-corrosion type thermocouples. Standard Type K and Type J thermocouples are suitable for most conventional plastic processing. High-temperature thermocouples can withstand temperatures above 400°C, suitable for PEEK, PEI, and other high-performance engineering plastics. Anti-corrosion thermocouples use special sheath materials to resist corrosive gases or additives in some plastics.
In terms of flexibility, there are rigid and flexible thermocouples. Flexible thermocouples can be bent arbitrarily to adapt to complex mold space layout, while rigid ones have higher mechanical strength. Connector types also vary, including miniature plugs, integrated connectors, and custom connectors to match different brand systems. In addition, customized products in different lengths, diameters, and junction forms are widely used in special hot runner structures. Choosing the right thermocouple product according to the actual structure is the key to ensuring stable system operation.
