Preparation before calibration: Prepare a Class II standard platinum-rhodium/platinum thermocouple, a low-potential DC potentiometer with a 0.02-degree precision, and a dry-block furnace. Ensure that all standard equipment is within its calibration validity period.
Pre-heat the Husky thermostat and hot runner system for 30 minutes. Ensure that the thermocouple wire is secure, the temperature field is stable, and there is no risk of loose connections or short circuits.
Thermocouple calibration: Connect the hot connections of the Husky thermocouple to be calibrated and the standard thermocouple together. Place them in the dry-block furnace, ensuring that they are in the same temperature field.
Set up 3-5 calibration points to cover common hot runner temperature ranges (100℃, 300℃, 500℃, and 800℃ for K-type thermocouples). Maintain each temperature point for 15-20 minutes.
Take readings cyclically in forward and backward order (standard-to-calibrated-standard), measuring at least four times at each location. First, determine the actual temperature, followed by the thermocouple error.
Calibration Prediction: Calibrate thermostat parameters by pressing and holding the setting button for 3-5 seconds. Enter the administrator password to access the "Advanced Configuration" → "Thermocouple Calibration" interface.
To eliminate cold junction drift error, measure the ambient temperature at the thermostat terminals and set the cold junction compensation temperature parameter to that value.
Input error correction values for each calibration point into the thermostat's multi-point calibration table. The device will automatically build a linear adjustment curve throughout the whole temperature range.
Enable the thermostat's PID self-tuning capability. The system will automatically adjust to the new temperature measurement characteristics and improve the temperature control parameters.
Verify after calibration by running continuously at a steady temperature for 2 hours. Using a conventional thermocouple, randomly compare numerous temperature points to ensure the full-temperature-range measurement deviation is < ±1℃ and temperature fluctuation is ≤ ±1℃. Calibration has completed.
