Moderate Drift (Deviation 0.1%~0.5%FS): Following drift repair calibration, switch to a semi-regular cycle of calibration every six months if three consecutive recalibrations spaced one month apart are both good and there is no drift recurrence. You can start the standard one-year calibration cycle again after six months of reliable operation.
Severe Drift (Deviation > 0.5%FS): After drift repair calibration, switch to a transitional cycle of calibration every three months if three consecutive recalibrations spaced two weeks apart are both good and there is no drift recurrence. Extend the cycle to calibration every six months after three months of steady operation. You can start the standard one-year calibration cycle again after six more months of steady operation. II. Requirements for Continued Regular Calibration Cycles
Following drift repair, there must be no out-of-tolerance points and the full-range accuracy deviation of all recalibrated measurements must consistently be stable within the equipment's nominal accuracy range.
A steady drift trend with no signs of a slow increase over operational time must be seen in data from three or more successive recalibrations.
There is no longer a chance of drift recurrence at its source because potential internal faults in the equipment have been found, proving that essential parts such crystal oscillators and analogue circuits are free from deterioration and ageing problems.
III. Modification Guidelines for Particular Situations
Based on the aforementioned, the transition period for starting regular calibration cycles should be prolonged by 30% for production lines with high-frequency use (average daily operation exceeding 8 hours).
It is advised to reduce the normal calibration cycle from one year to six months for high-requirement scenarios such precision injection moulding and medical-grade products, even if stability satisfies standards following drift repair. This will prevent drift recurrence from impacting product accuracy.
