Initial Calibration Requirements After Repair: A full-process calibration must be completed immediately following thermocouple repair. This is required. It checks that the corrected temperature measurement accuracy meets standards, eliminates temperature measurement discrepancies caused by welding and insulation repair, and assures that the thermocouple's calibration properties meet specifications.
Subsequent Calibration Cycles After Repair: If only non-core components, such as terminals and external compensating wires, have been repaired and the initial calibration data shows deviations far below the allowable error range, the original standard calibration cycle of once every 12 months, coinciding with the factory's annual overhaul, may be used.
If the internal thermocouple wires have been welded, or if the thermocouple is used in harsh conditions such as high temperatures or corrosive gases, the subsequent calibration cycle should be reduced to 3-6 months to prevent thermoelectric drift at the repaired area, which can result in inaccurate temperature measurements.
For important temperature measurement locations used in high-precision injection moulding processes such as automotive and medical applications, a 6-month calibration cycle is advised to assure consistent product moulding accuracy.
Pre-calibration trigger conditions: If the repaired thermocouple exhibits abnormalities, such as a temperature measurement deviation exceeding ±2℃ or irregular temperature fluctuations, recalibration should be scheduled immediately without waiting for the predetermined cycle to avoid affecting product moulding quality.
