Based on our previous discussion of installation specifications and detailed control for PTFE cables in hot runner scenarios, the following measures can be taken to avoid cable damage during installation:
Stripping Protection: Use dedicated PTFE wire strippers. Do not use sharp tools to scratch the insulation layer, as this may damage the wire core or leave hidden cracks.
Wiring Path Protection: Clean any sharp metal burrs in the wiring path beforehand. Place high-temperature resistant insulating pads at the points where the cable contacts the casing to prevent the insulation layer from being worn through.
Bending Control: Avoid 90° right-angle bends throughout the installation process. The minimum bending radius should not be less than 5 times the outer diameter of the cable to prevent stress cracking of the PTFE insulation layer.
Wiring Pull Control: Do not pull or tug on the cables during installation. Allow for approximately 10% allowance for thermal expansion and contraction to prevent the wire core from breaking.
High-Temperature Environment Avoidance: Avoid direct radiation from the high-temperature zone of the hot runner heating coil during wiring to prevent localized burns to the PTFE insulation layer during installation. Tool Protection: When using tools such as crimping pliers and heat guns, avoid direct contact with the wire insulation layer to prevent scratches, burns, and other damage.
These measures can prevent various hidden damages to the PTFE wires during the entire installation process, ensuring the long-term insulation reliability of the subsequent hot runner system.
