They also learn about the plant's thermocouple replacement strategy and how to prioritize thermocouple-related requests. The session is 1 hour with a hands-on component (observing a thermocouple change). Level 3: Maintenance Technicians and Engineers. The objective is competence. This is the in-depth training program described in Article 127. It covers theory, practical skills, and troubleshooting. Technicians learn to install, test, calibrate, and diagnose thermocouples. They learn to use the tools (multimeter, megohmmeter, calibrator). They learn to analyze failure patterns and implement corrective actions. This is a multi-day program with certification. Level 4: Process Engineers and Managers. The objective is strategy. Engineers learn about the advanced topics: predictive maintenance, data integration, cost-benefit analysis, and future trends. They learn how to use thermocouple data for process optimization and how to select the right thermocouple for new applications. They also learn about supplier management and the development of the thermocouple procurement specification. This is a 1-day advanced workshop. Implementation: The education program should be delivered annually, with refreshers every 6 months. Use a variety of formats: classroom presentations, hands-on workshops, e-learning modules, and on-the-job training. Evaluate the program with tests and practical assessments. Recognize and reward personnel who demonstrate exceptional thermocouple management skills.
