Unlock Parameter Setting Permissions: First, set the Husky temperature controller to Administrator/Advanced User. Enter the correct password to have access to edit calibration parameters. Calibration parameters cannot be changed in standard user mode.
In the main menu, select "Sensor Settings" or "Thermocouple Configuration". Select the channel that requires calibration and navigate to the "Calibration Compensation" submenu.
Core Calibration Parameter Configuration:
Cold Junction Compensation Parameter: Check if the cold junction compensation function is activated. To correct system faults caused by cold junction temperature drift, use the observed ambient temperature at the cold junction connection as the reference value. Ensure the variance is ≤ ±0.5℃.
Single Point Offset Compensation Parameter: Heat the hot runner to a standard production temperature. Use a normal thermocouple to measure the actual temperature at this point. To complete the single point offset adjustment, enter the difference between the measured and displayed values of the temperature controller into the "Temperature Offset" parameter box.
Multi-point calibration parameters: The Husky temperature controller supports high-precision calibration and allows for comparative tests at three separate temperature points (20%, 50%, and 80% of the range). The system records error values at each temperature point, resulting in a linear compensation curve for precise calibration over the temperature range.
Parameter activation and locking: Once the settings have been selected, start the temperature controller's PID self-tuning (AT) program to adjust the system to the new thermocouple characteristics and optimise the control parameters.
Run at a steady temperature for 30 minutes. Once the temperature display fluctuation is ≤±1℃ and variation from the standard temperature value is within the permissible range, lock the calibration settings to prevent unauthorised persons from making unintentional changes.
This setup process is completely consistent with the Husky hot runner temperature control system's operational logic. Following calibration, it assures that the thermocouple temperature measurement accuracy satisfies the high standards of injection moulding production.
