Pre-Replacement Safety Procedure:
First, set the voltage adjustment knob on the signal generator to zero. Verify that the device's high-voltage indication light turns on by pressing the high-voltage indicator button.
After turning off the device's power switch, give the internal energy storage capacitor 30 seconds to completely discharge. Before starting up, make sure the gadget is fully de-energised and that the high-voltage indicator value is zero.
To release static electricity from your body and shield the device's internal precise electronics from electrostatic discharge, use an anti-static wrist strap.
Disconnect the old cable as soon as possible:
Pinch the old test cable's BNC connector clip and pull it outward vertically from the accessory bag at the back of the device. Avoid pulling the cable body too hard.
To fully disconnect the old cable from the device and test port, loosen the test clamp clamp at the other end of the cable. The old cable should be carefully arranged and stored.
Installing the New Cable Quickly:
Verify that there is no external damage or bent pins, and that the model and impedance parameters of the replacement test cable match the old cable exactly.
To ensure that the new cable's BNC connector is tight and secure, align it with the device's output port and insert it vertically until you hear a "click" sound.
Attach the red clamp to the signal output terminal and the black clamp to the test ground terminal on the opposite end in accordance with the matching markings. Make sure the wiring is right.
Quick Verification Following Replacement: Turn on the device and give it five minutes to warm up. To ensure that the signal transmission is normal and there is no attenuation, set a low-range output signal and retest it using a reference calibrator.
To make sure there are no sudden changes in the output signal or poor contact problems, give the new cable connector a little shake. Now that the replacement is finished, the gadget can be used normally.
This replacement procedure is straightforward and can be carried out on their own by regular maintenance staff. The downtime for cable repair is greatly decreased because no additional sophisticated instruments are needed.
